I am such a moron. I washed my new (to me) snowy white Bad Boy gi with a set of red scrubs.
The "Bad Boy" thing is just wrong when it's pink.

It's a perfectly lovely cotton candy pink. If you like pink. Which I DON'T.
Lol! Sorry to laugh at your pain :D
ReplyDeleteOh no!!
ReplyDeleteI think the a pink Bad Boy gi is kind of hilarious and I am a pink wearer, but I would cry if I were in your shoes.
I'm sure it is hopelessly pink forever, but did you at least try to rewash it? =(
Why'd it have to be *THAT* one???!? I have two elderly white gi's which are beginning to get a bit sweat-stained.... those are the ones I figured I'd try dying eventually. This one was a lovely, pure snowy white. Sometimes I paused outside before getting into the car just to admire and marvel at the beauty of The White.
ReplyDeleteOh well, it will give everyone a chuckle, anyway. I've been so openly contemptuous of the pink gi's. And this one isn't even the Kyra Gracie pink, it's BABY BLANKET pink.
I should probably wait till next week to wear it into Gracie's. I don't want Carlos to laugh himself to death before the Pan Ams.
LOL, a pink Bad Boy!
ReplyDeleteOne of the little girls in the kids program had a similar laundry accident, well her dad did. He washed a pair of red hand wraps with her gi. She hates pink. To fix it the next week he washed a pair of blue handwraps with the formerly white gi. It ended up a marbled purple colour.
Not sure she liked it any better, now she has a brand new blue gi.
I'll wear it for a while. It did turn out very well. Nice and even, and a pretty color. Looks great- just not for me. Unfortunately I don't think there are any girls here who wear A2's, otherwise I'd try to trade it!
ReplyDeleteI think I have some purple RIT under the sink... I might just throw it in that and see what comes out. I just hope it doesn't turn lavender. That would be almost as bad as pink.
I'd like a chocolate brown gi. I just know I won't be able to make that happen, though. I'm a sloppy dyer, and dark colors are the worst. I tried to dye a pair of cotton pants black last year. Even though I used 2 or 3 times the amount of dye recommended- and I left the pants soaking in there for like three weeks- it turned out tye-dye purple. Pretty- but not what I was going for.
